Ústřední výbor Světové rady církví (WCC) se sešel ve dnech 21.–27. června na svém prvním zasedání od zvolení tohoto řídícího orgánu na 11. valném shromáždění WCC v září 2022. Skupina představitelů církví-členů se zaměřila především na strategie, které určilo valné shromáždění. Klíčovými cíli bylo uskutečnění strategií pomocí konkrétních kroků ve všech programových oblastech a posílení vlivu WCC na světové procesy v duchu spravedlnosti, usmíření a jednoty.
Na setkání ústředního výboru byl schválen strategický plán, kterým se organizace bude řídit do příštího valného shromáždění. Byly přijaty finanční a komunikační strategie. Uskutečnila se oslava 75. výročí WCC.
Ústřední výbor se schází obvykle každé dva roky a v období mezi shromážděními slouží jako hlavní řídící orgán WCC. Ústřední výbor je zodpovědný za provádění politiky přijaté shromážděním, jakož i za revizi a dohled nad programy WCC a rozpočtem organizace.
„Ústřední výbor se schází poprvé po svém ustavujícím zasedání v Karlsruhe,“ poznamenal moderátor ústředního výboru WCC biskup Dr. Heinrich Bedford-Strohm. „V této pro zraněný svět těžké době má tento řídící orgán WCC velkou odpovědnost za vývoj strategií pro budoucnost, které mohou světu pomoci se uzdravit. Jsme přesvědčeni, že Kristova láska pomůže světu dosáhnout spravedlnosti, smíření a jednoty.“
